Nintendo Portal is a community oriented website designed to deliver all manner of news, downloads and other multimedia content to fans of Nintendo franchises.
The site originally started out as Mario Portal, but it has since been passed from owner to owner. Now known as Nintendo Portal, it is co-owned by Adam Wright and Matthew Ellis, and I was drafted in late 2008 to assist with migration of content to an e107 installation. I also redesigned the site with Nintendo's corporate colours in mind.
The latest version of the site was built on top of CMS Made Simple, and I used one of its stock themes as a basis for the new design. I also forked the "Forum Made Simple" module, customizing it heavily and fixing many bugs in the process to make it fit for use with Nintendo Portal. Additionally, I was responsible for developing some custom features such as image submission and detail pages for the frontend, and an "articles" feature that allowed submission and moderation of user-written articles.
